Stephan Schneeweiss is driving EuroQ Eisenach forward
He knows the team, knows the processes – and relies on team spirit and an exciting portfolio
Some things happen at just the right time. When the position of Operations Manager at our Eisenach branch (in Germany) became vacant at short notice in February 2025, we quickly realized that we wanted to fill this vacancy internally with Stephan Schneeweiss. It’s even more fantastic that he, who has known EuroQ for many years, has directly taken on this management role. With his experience, team spirit, and down-to-earth attitude, he is not only the ideal candidate professionally, but also personally.
Now, after a few months in this position, we asked him how he experienced the transition from project manager to operations manager, what excites him about his new role, and what his plans are for the future in Eisenach.
Stephan, how did your career at EuroQ begin?
I started at EuroQ in Eisenach in 2009, initially as a quality controller on a temporary contract. It was an interesting environment right from the start, with lots of different projects and tasks. The fact that I stayed so long is certainly also due to the fact that I was able to grow here without having to change employers.
Were there any particular stages or projects that had a big impact on you?
Yes, definitely. I worked as a foreman in and around Eisenach, even across state borders, and learned a lot about customer requirements, team leadership, and quality assurance.
Looking back on the years from 2009 to 2014 in particular, I can see how much expertise I have accumulated over the years. I was able to expand my knowledge even further with the development of the current product filter, which we have been using to support a global corporation since 2018.
Now you are operations manager in Eisenach – how did that come about?
I had been aiming for this position for 15 years, and when it became available at short notice, I didn’t hesitate to accept the offer from the management. The opportunity to take on more responsibility while remaining in a familiar environment was what appealed to me most. The excellent work of my predecessor also played a major role in my decision to take on this position.
What do you particularly like about your new responsibility?
I particularly like the fact that I can showcase our branch even more and implement my ideas for achieving our corporate goals. The team knows me, but the position of operations manager changes your perspective on many things. Suddenly, you have overall responsibility. It’s a different level, but a good one.
What is most important to you in working with your team?
Openness, honesty, closeness, and respect are crucial for me. Many of my colleagues have been with me for a long time, and I really appreciate their trust. It’s important to me to remain on an eye-to-eye level, even as operations manager.
Do you have any new plans for EuroQ Eisenach?
The situation in the automotive industry is very challenging right now. In the short term, the focus is on stability, process optimization, and above all, satisfied customers.
At the same time, I’m working with the team to identify where we can continue to grow – both professionally and organizationally. I am sure that there are still good opportunities in the Eisenach area to support existing and new customers with our service portfolio.
Is there anything at the Eisenach branch that might be of particular interest to potential customers?
Yes, definitely. We don’t just work for the automotive industry, but increasingly for other sectors too. In addition to our traditional quality services, we also offer additional logistics services in Eisenach, either in our own state-of-the-art productfilter or at the customer’s premises. These include repackaging and relabeling, even for particularly sensitive components such as high-voltage components and batteries.
Also, our digital documentation solution is particularly exciting for many customers. It enables us to record and evaluate test and process data in real time and make the analyses available in a transparent manner.
And finally: What do you do when you’re not working?
I try to give my father, who is in a wheelchair, as much joy as possible.
At the same time, I am a passionate rally co-driver and have already won several awards. In the current 2025 season, we are traveling extensively in Europe with the aim of perhaps competing in a full season in the FIAERC, the European Championship, next year. So I’m fully committed – as operations manager, son, and rally co-driver!
