EuroQ has been operating in Zwickau since 2016 (previously in Leipzig). EuroQ is an approved quality assurance service provider for Volkswagen Sachsen GmbH and can be engaged by all suppliers at the plant. The team led by Operations Manager Gabi Uhlig has inspected and reworked over 15 million components for suppliers and logistics providers in the VW Saxony region and, increasingly, for customers in other industries as well.

The office is located in the northern part of Zwickau. The Volkswagen plant in Zwickau-Mosel is a 10-minute drive away, Glauchau is 15 minutes away, Meerane is 20 minutes away, and the Chemnitz engine plant is 40 minutes away. We coordinate teams in Dresden and Leipzig through the Zwickau branch.

Quality Control and Sorting in Zwickau

As of January 1, 2025, EuroQ has been officially listed as a service provider for sorting and rework activities at Volkswagen Sachsen GmbH. This certification also includes listing with the logistics service providers in Meerane.

EuroQ Zwickau supports suppliers and logistics providers directly at the Volkswagen plant and, in the surrounding area, also assists Saxon supplier companies. According to AMZ Sachsen, Saxony is home to 780 suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and service providers, as well as five vehicle plants.

Quality control, sorting, rework, and other services are performed wherever the need arises: at the plants, at suppliers’ sites, or at external locations.

Quality Assurance Zwickau: Industry-Neutral

Component testing, sorting, incoming and outgoing goods inspection, repackaging, and relabeling: These services are industry-neutral. Whether components are used in vehicles, e-bikes, wind turbines, or logistics processes makes no fundamental difference to the testing methodology.

EuroQ conducts inspections in accordance with the quality standards of the automotive industry, one of the most demanding sectors of all. We inspect components according to VDA standards, IATF 16949, and OEM specifications, and, if necessary, adapt our standards to other industries.

Electric Mobility and ODIS Flashing in Zwickau

The Volkswagen plant in Zwickau-Mosel has been producing exclusively electric vehicles since June 2020 and is Europe’s largest electric vehicle plant. In 2024, 204,000 vehicles were produced there.

EuroQ is well-suited to this environment: The team holds high-voltage qualifications at the HV 1, HV 2, and HV 3 levels. In practice, HV 1 through HV 3 means: The team can de-energize electric vehicles to perform inspections, repairs, and rework. If necessary, the HV 3 specialists can also work on live systems.

In addition, EuroQ Zwickau holds ODIS certification with its own hardware: EuroQ Zwickau performs software updates on finished vehicles and ECUs that have not yet been installed. The client does not need to provide its own hardware or certifications.

Ramp-up Support in Zwickau

The launch of a new vehicle model is the most critical phase in the supply chain. Quality issues that are not addressed during this phase carry over into series production, where they result in costs many times higher than the original correction costs. EuroQ Zwickau is on-site during this phase and provides support with its specialized staff.

The EuroQ team performs component inspections and sorting tasks in parallel with ongoing ramp-up production, reworks defective but reworkable parts directly on-site, and sets up quality filters for critical components. All inspection results are digitally recorded via the EuroQ app and can be viewed in real time.

Vehicle refurbishment and circular economy in Zwickau

Volkswagen Sachsen has designated the Zwickau-Mosel plant as the central center of excellence for the circular economy within the Volkswagen Group. As early as 2025, 500 pre-production vehicles will be dismantled and remanufactured; starting in 2027, capacity is set to increase gradually to 15,000 vehicles annually by 2030.
